In Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, you need a Building & Zoning Permit when constructing, altering, or repairing any structure, including attached structures like decks, habitable spaces, retaining walls over 4 feet tall, fences over 6 feet tall, and certain solar panels or essentially any project that significantly changes the structure of a building or creates a new habitable space requires a permit.
